Flocor Media achieves even liquid distribution across the surface of a media bed and manages irrigation rates, recirculation requirements and flushing intensity, together with surface organic and hydraulic loading rates onto the reactor.
Flocor Media has a high surface area and is lightweight and resist to shock loading. It is also chemically inert, resistant to low temperatures and quick and easy to install.
How Flocor Plastic Biological Water Filtration Media Works
Flocor is a high-efficiency plastic media that provides an optimum effective surface area for biolgical growth while ensuring excellent gas and liquid distribution within the packed filter bed. Flocor is a corrugated plastic tube with an open structure, allowing excellent water circulation around the packed media. This design ensures the whole surface of the media can be colonised by beneficial bacteria. The clever design also helps to settle suspended particles from the water. Random distribution of the Flocor media tubes causes waterflow to change direction as it passes through each tube creating laminar flow (flowing in layers) which causes particles to drop out of suspension to settle in the media.
