OPAFLO™ Arsenic Filtration
Flexible and proven sand filtration technologies for drinking water and other applications.
OPAFLO™ As are compact ferric hydroxide filtration technology units that remove arsenic in raw water for drinking water purposes. The basic unit includes one or several filters fitted with their respective pipework and Granular Ferric Hydroxide (filtration media).
The OPAFLO™ is a flexible due to the number of configuration options and the design of the compact skid-mounted unit means it can be easily integrated into a water treatment system.
Arsenic Filtration Systems
Arsenic exists naturally in our environment and can also get into our water systems from industrial and agricultural processes. The human health impact of drinking water contaminated with arsenic is dependent on the level of concentration and the period of time over which contaminated water has been consumed. Arsenic consumption has been linked to increased lifetime risk of various forms of cancer.
Heating and boiling water will not remove arsenic. In fact it will make the arsenic concentration higher as water evaporates, leaving the arsenic behind. Opaflow systems use Granular Ferric Oxide as a filtration media. Systems are available offering various flow rates from 10 up to 100 cubic metres per hour. Systems are compliant with multiple international standards including: ACS, CODAP, 97/23/CE DIRECTIVE/NFEN ISO 12944 standards.
