Veolia Water Technologies sponsors first Bucks Corporate Relay

Veolia Water Technologies is proud to be the headline sponsor of the first Veolia Bucks Corporate Relay. The charity event will see teams from Buckinghamshire businesses and public-sector organisations compete in a five-kilometre relay challenge.

Taking place at the National Trust’s West Wycombe Park on Thursday 20th June, the event will celebrate teamwork, promote local businesses and the community as well as raise money for the participating organisations’ nominated charities. The Veolia Bucks Corporate Relay is open to teams of four runners or two walkers from Buckinghamshire based organisations and caters to everyone from first time runners to experienced athletes. The team that raises the most money for its charity will be awarded the Charity Cup.

Veolia Water Technologies, which has it’s UK offices based in High Wycombe, Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent and Scotland specialises in water, wastewater treatment, resource recovery and services. They have been supporting the UK municipal, industrial, scientific and healthcare sectors with cutting edge technologies, products and services for over 100 years. The sponsorship of the corporate relay, which aims to promote healthy lifestyles, teamwork and community, is in line with its focus on creating a positive impact in every area it operates.

Drawing inspiration from the inter-company relay held in the small town of Pietermaritzburg in South Africa, the relay challenge prioritises participation and enjoyment. It focuses on the team building aspect of training and competition that enhances morale and demonstrates the value of cooperation.

The event also gives local companies the opportunity to promote their own businesses to potential customers, suppliers and future employees through networking with other participants, advertising in the company zone or sponsorship.

Mullenbach Events,  said: “The Bucks Corporate Relay is all about doing things differently and with its focus on innovation and improving people’s lives, Veolia was the ideal fit to be lead sponsor. We look forward to working together to deliver a great first event, one which we hope will be the first of many.”

Martyn Fisher, CEO - Northern Europe & VP Solutions, Europe/Africa, at Veolia Water Technologies commented: “Being an integral part of the local community is very important for us. We are delighted to be sponsoring an event that will have so many positive outcomes for individuals, businesses and the nominated charities.”
