Vacuum Evaporation for the Production of Pot Ale Syrup

As part of Ardnamurchan Estates’ forward thinking approach to resource management, a biomass power generation plant was installed in 2017 – using small round wood from the Estates’ forestry operations. This wood is commercially unsuitable for further processing at a sawmill.

A number of different evaporator types were considered by Ardnamurchan Estates. After thorough review, the Estate selected a two stage Veolia EVALED vacuum evaporation system.

The evaporator system was commissioned in 2018 and immediately started to produce good quality Pot Ale Syrup.
