Scottish Brewery Meets SEPA Regulations With VWTUK's Biothane Design

Based in Scotland, the brewery produces a number of well-known alcoholic products and exports to markets all across the world including the United States, Canada and Europe. The brewery began to see an increase in its wastewater discharge costs, due to the volume of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) in the effluent wastewater.

We suggested an anaerobic digester (AD) plant using Veolia’s biothane designs to solve the issue. Anaerobic treatment is a proven and energy-efficient method for treating industrial wastewater.
