Service Technician
Field-based in Romford
Permanent, Full-time, 37.5 hours

If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our leading, well respected water technologies company, where you will play a pivotal role in completing water hygiene service visits and tasks such as temperature monitoring, water sampling, shower C+Ds, TMV servicing, cold water storage tank clean & disinfecting and cooling tower clean & disinfecting. Some more brief responsibilities of a Service Engineer are:
Ensuring that client sites are provided with the appropriate water hygiene services and are compliant with all industry specific and Health & Safety legislation.
Communicating with customers to ensure that all work completed is satisfactory and that issues are reported on the day of the visit both verbally and electronically.
Developing and maintaining relationships with key client personnel & colleagues.
Completing field documentation and reports via ZetaSafe, Word and Excel and also ensuring they are circulated to the relevant people within the required time frames.
Proactive in making recommendations to clients and/or Account Managers for improvements to existing systems.
Responsible for maintaining an inventory of commonly required tools and spares for water hygiene works.
Takes all reasonable steps to ensure their own safety and that of others. Complies with all current legislation and any prevailing site rules. Reports any accidents, incidents or near misses in accordance with Company or client policies.
Works to achieve KPIs and targets set and agreed with the line manager.
Maintaining and updating water industry knowledge.
Carry out Legionella and TVC sampling.
Carry out general water hygiene temperature monitoring.
Carry out shower clean and descales.
Carry out cold water storage tank inspections and report back findings with recommendations.
Carry out thermostatic mixer valve servicing.
Record results, add assets and set up new customer sites via Zeta mobile application.
Assist with cooling tower cleans and disinfections.
Liaising with the Water Hygiene Supervisor with regards to all technical issues.
General requirements for the role:
Good basic IT knowledge and experience with using emails and Google apps.
At least two years experience in Legionella control services to include: Temperature monitoring of hot and cold water systems, Inspection of cold water tanks, clean and disinfection techniques for cold water storage tanks / calorifiers / showers and TMV servicing.
Able to work as part of a team or on own initiative
A full UK driving licence is required.
Good communication skills, punctual, presentable, and willing to learn and develop.
Excellent time management skills.
Able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
Legionella Awareness training and full working knowledge of ACoP L8 and HSG274 is desirable.
Knowledge in TMV Servicing is desirable.
Reading Legionella Risk Assessments is desirable.
Experience in using Zeta mobile or equivalent programme is desirable.
Experience in assisting with cooling tower clean and disinfections is desirable.
