In the community

We have a number of nominated charities and foundations which we support and encourage employees to become involved in.

Variety, the Children's Charity

Variety, the Children's Charity, has been selected by Veolia UK as its national charity partner for 2013/14.

Veolia staff will raise awareness and funds for Variety, enabling it to continue to improve the lives of sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and young adults throughout the UK. Throughout the partnership Veolia staff will also have the opportunity to volunteer at schools supported by Variety giving them more opportunity to support communities where they work.

Brake Campaign

Veolia supported Brake's Road Safety Week campaign, which took place from 19th-25th November 2012.

This campaign is organised annually by Brake, an independent road safety charity and not only helps to raise valuable funds, it also raises awareness of the importance of driving at slower and safer speeds. The theme of Brake Road Safety Week was Slower speeds = happy people.

Veolia donated high visibility garments (vests, tabards and arm-bands) for the children at local schools near the Veolia offices in Birmingham, Stoke on Trent and Marlow.

The UK Veolia Group, which Veolia Water Technologies UK is part of, is a long-standing supporter of the WaterAid. The charity funds projects in the poorest countries of the world to provide clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene education.

The UK Veolia group has donated over £60,000 since 2002, to help bring safe water, effective sanitation and hygiene education to 3.000 people. For more information visit: www.wateraid.org/uk/

Royal Derby Hospital

With a long history in dialysis water treatment, we support Derby hospital's endeavours and have donated £1000 towards a second caravan. For more information or to donate visit: www.justgiving.com/renalcaravan
